Travel Photo Competition

THE GTTP Digital PHOTO COMPETITION

You may be an aspiring photographer or simply have an eye for what makes a great photo, but either way you are encouraged to enter the GTTP-sponsored annual photography competition is underway for 2024.

Can you take that one photo that can showcase your community, city or country? Can you capture that one image that will make a potential visitor say, “you know what, I’d like to go there”?

The competition is open to all students at GTTP schools.

Communicating clearly with other people is a key skill to be developed by anyone wanting to go into travel and tourism and that doesn’t just mean the spoken or written word.  It also includes stunning photography!

This year, the focus is on capturing images which shows your cultural heritage.  Find a monument or a building or a festival or food – anything that depicts your cultural heritage, take a fantastic photograph, and submit it for entry.

After all, as the saying goes, a picture can say more than a thousand words.

If you can take a great photo, you could be the winner of the “Framing My Cultural Heritage” Digital Photo Competition for 2024, and in the process, earn for yourself a cash prize.

Who can take part?

The competition is open to all students at GTTP schools.

Can I use any camera?

Yes! Many people use the cameras on their devices where the image quality continues to improve. Or you can use a digital camera. If you are using a film camera the picture will have to be digitised and you can use software to edit your work.  Only digital images will be accepted.

How do I submit my work?

Just send a Jpeg file, no bigger than 4mb, to your GTTP Country Director via email.   You’ll also need to send us a completed entry form which you can download here.

Is there a prize?

Of course. There are national prizes with entry into the international finals.

And the deadline?

Entries need to be with your GTTP Director by 2024 July 1. Good luck!
