Contestants are asked to create one photo that can be used to introduce a visitor to their community.
The 1st Prize Winner is Tiffany Cheung, a student at The Hong Kong Taoist Association Ching Chung Secondary School, in Hong Kong SAR.
The 2nd Prize Winner is Banele Motsoeneng of South Africa.
First Prize: Tiffany Cheung, Hong Kong SAR.
Her image is of the Space Museum of Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui.
Here is how she got the idea for her image.
It started when she was a little girl and loved the cartoon character Buzz Lightyear, the space ranger in the “Toy Story” movie series. He is the character who likes to say “To Infinity, and Beyond!”
So of course, her parents would take her to the Space Museum. It has good memories for her.
“Therefore, when I was thinking about the idea of taking a photo to represent Hong Kong, I went there to inspire my mind. Indeed, this place is not just my childhood fantasies, but a must-go attraction for locals as well as tourists.”
Second Prize: Banele Motsoeneng, South Africa.
The image is of three big, round geological formations overlooking the Blyde River Canyon on the “Panorama Route” of the country’s Eastern Cape province. The three formations are known as “The Three Rondavels.”
